Enough is Enough

Menace 7
Dec. 22, 2003
Starring: Paul Levine, Sean Studd, and Trey Vincent
Writer: John Leary

Trey VincentThe scene could be summed up so simply.

Chaos.

Sean Studd and Trey Vincent’s highly-personal battle was finally beginning to explode with violence instead of words. And the WWC was not even close to ready to deal with it.

In the main hallway backstage, Vincent and Studd were continuing to fight each other, tossing punches and kicks at each other with no regard for their own bodies. Or anybody else’s.

With the match over, WWC officials were trying to stop them from killing each other before the pay-per-view. A world title was at stake, for sure, but this was more than just about business now. It was also intensely personal.

WWC agents and referees swarmed the two men. They succeeded only at pausing Studd and Vincent, who turned away from each other to beat on the men who tried to interrupt the brawl. Studd knocked down a referee. Vincent knocked down a referee. Vincent and Studd went toward each other and became divided by a wall of referees.

Vincent tossed one aside, punched down another, punched down a third.

Studd dropped down and hit a low blow knuckle shot on one. Tripped two other referees from behind. Punched aside another.

Studd then tried to make what looked like an NFL running back diving over the defensive line, trying to get at Vincent. Vincent and Studd and a few referees all fell down in a pile. Meanwhile, agents were frantically calling for some sort of backup on phones.

Vincent and Studd were both at the bottom of referee piles.

Not even THAT would stop them. Vincent began gouging and choking his way free. Studd squirmed an arm free and began punching anybody close to him.

After several seconds of struggling, amazingly, Studd and Vincent got to their feet. Both of them spotted weapons, several steel pipes propped against the wall nearby. They both charged and got one.

The referees and officials to their credit didn’t stop. They charged again.

Vincent speared one of the referee’s in the belly. Studd hit one in the chest with a good windup.

Vincent whacked the legs out from underneath a second approaching official. Studd simply whacked one on the shoulder. And on they all came, and all they all fell at the hands of Studd and Vincent.

Those two men turned toward each other, like two Samurais about to wage a war with pipes instead of swords.

That’s when they heard the footsteps coming. Both men looked to their left and saw a new swarm coming for them; this time it was a group of men dressed up like a SWAT force, decked out in riot gear.

'Aw, is all this shit really necessary for us?' Studd asked, sounding disappointed.

'Fucking police,' Vincent said.

'Put the pipes down, gentlemen,' one of the officers said, stepping forward, brandishing a large club, as well as a riot shield.

'Fuck yourself in the ass with a broomstick,' came Vincent’s witty response as he charged for Studd.

*CHING*

The sound of pipe meeting pipe was heard, echoing off every wall in the eerie silence that would be short-lived. The officers charged forward, knocking both men to the floor violently. It took four men a piece to subdue the two men with the large egos and deep hatred for each other. But it worked.

'WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON BACK HERE?' came Paul Levine’s familiar voice. 'I should have known,' Levine said. Vincent and Studd, despite being down and restrained, were staring a hole through each other. 'You two and your fucking egos. I’m sick of this bullshit. So here’s how it’s gonna work, men. You’re going to be escorted to separate rooms in this arena until I give the OK for you to be released. Then you are both going to get your asses down to the ring a little later and listen to an announcement I’ve got to make concerning the World Title match.'

'You better not fucking cheat me out of that match,' Vincent yelled from the floor.

'You got a bigger problem than that Vincent. You might wanna head to the clinic to get a checkup!' Studd said, laughing despite the situation.

'Take them away!' Levine ordered the officers. 'Un-fucking-believable!'

Levine looked down at all the injured referees. Would any of these referees even want to be involved in the main event match at Road To Gold now? And if they did, could they even maintain control if things got out of control as they had in the last several minutes?

What was Levine’s special announcement?

Stay tuned!
