So, What Are The Consequences?
PIW Unforeseen Consequences
Nov. 2, 2002
Wippit walked back through the curtain from the main arena, a huge smile on his face and the sound of thousands of fans still cheering his victory in the background. As he adjusted to the dimmer light back here, he noticed Trey leaning against a wall, arms crossed, and a small grin on his face.
Breathlessly, Wippit came over to Vincent, "Trey, man, I gotta-"
"You don't 'gotta' do anything, Chris," interrupted Trey, using Wippit's real name, "except listen a second. I just wanted to tell you how much fun I've had this past month, even given the circumstances we've had to endure. You're the one who made this work, not me, and so... well, I decided to change the ending. Yeah, it might piss off old JJ, but I've been through worse."
Wippit was speechless (not a common thing for the small prankster), but definitely not frozen, as he held his hand out to Trey.
Trey smiled, but instead of taking his hand, hugged Wippit instead.
"I might be the Sports Entertainment Icon, but... are The Man!"
Wippit pulled back, and the tears were in his eyes again. Wippit sruggled with his emotions, and then managed to get some words past his frozen toungue.
"Trey... you're not... like... Jamal, are you?"
Trey burst out laughing, and together the two friends walked back to their locker room.
