Falling
***Site exclusive***
A night of drinking. A night of dancing, well, grinding body parts together. A night of passion. A perfect night. The first one Trey could remember. Just him and Taylor starring in a world made for them with a bunch of extras and bit part players.
Taylor's head rested on Trey's chest, her left arm wrapped around his mid-section. He slowly ran his fingers through her long, soft brown hair and thought. About important things.
"You know, I don't have a middle name," he said softly.
"Really?" Taylor said sleepily. "Isn't that good, from that whole, TV thingee."
"Yeah. But my name lacks a third important factor. Tell me, what do you think of the name Nielsen?"
#Pffffffft#
Trey felt some of Taylor's spit land on him. It tingled in a nice way. "Are you serious?" She looked up at him, eyebrows raised.
"Yeah. See, the name Trey is three. Vincent means conqueror or victor. And if I picked the name Nielsen, then that would mean my middle name equals ratings."
She rolled her eyes and massaged his side. "No," she said flatly.
"Really?"
"Yes, really. Just stay TV. I like TV. I wouldn't like Trey Nielsen Vincent. God, you'd sound like a lawyer. TNV. What does that mean?"
"Nothing, I guess. Yeah, you're right. They'll know I equal ratings eventually anyway."
"Yeah they will." She lightly kissed his chest. "You're great."
"I know."
"You'd be even greater with a title, but..."
"But what?"
No response.
"Taylor?"
No response.
Trey bounced up and down on the bed.
"Uhh, whaaa?"
"What?" Trey asked again.
"Huh?"
"You said I'd be great with a title, but..."
"Oh, I fell asleep. I just was gonna say I'll still love you either way."
"Whoop-de-doo. I wok you up for that? Your love isn't enough. I need to be big. Really big. A superstar. A personality. A champion. A champion of champions. The man. The man among boys."
"Just be you. Just be TV."
"I will Taylor. I don't want to be respected. I'm a simple man. I just want control."
"Sure, simple."
Trey fished out the stereo remote from under his pillow, all the while never disturbing Taylor. He hit power. He hit play.
And fell asleep to the song. Dreaming of his future.
"Falling."
