Joey Malone vs. Trey Vincent

jOlt Intense 37

"Shame," by BT, sounded out through the arenas PA system, and some of the more knowledgeable fans got to their feet and cheered the arrival of one Joey Malone, former IWO superstar and relative neophyte in jOlt. Malone strode confidently to the ring, and he appeared to be ready for his match with Trey Vincent. Tonight marked Vincent's debut match, though he had already interrupted two of Lance Knight's matches with varying results. As Malone slid into the ring, Strapping Young Lad's "All Hail the New Flesh" boomed through the arena, and Trey Vincent stepped out from behind the curtain with a microphone in his hand. He confidently swaggered to the ring, and then slid in, microphone still clutched in his right hand.

Vincent stood up and held his hand up, palm-first, in Malones direction; as if to tell the Arizona native that he would have to wait for his chance to grapple with the Sports Entertainment Icon. Vincent slowly spun in a circle and looked out over the crowd before bringing the microphone to his lips and speaking.

"As many of you know, I've done my best to improve segments featuring that talentless hack Lance Knight."

The crowd has begun to boo Vincent, but this doesnt seem to put him off, and he continues unabated, without even so much as a pause for breath.

"Both times that I've made my presence known on Sunday iNtense, its been during Lance Knights matches, and now, tonight, it's my turn to step into the squared circle and have a match."

"While I'm sure that neither you nor this long-haired prima donna standing across the ring from me..."

Before Vincent could continue, he was drowned out by boos, as the crowd took offense to his insults towards Malone. Vincent calmly waited for the decibel level to die down before clearing his throat and continuing with his tirade.

"At any rate, I'd just like to offer up a warning to Lance Knight - you get involved in this match, Knight, and you'll regret it. Every jOlt fan across the world, every man who stands in the back, they're all going to know what happened last year, Lance."

At this point, Vincent's voice changed dramatically, adopting an almost motherly tone.

"And we don't want that, do we?"

With that said Vincent dropped the microphone and turned to face Joey Malone, who seemed to have mentally wandered off during Vincent's spiel. Upon hearing the microphone thud against the mat, though, Malone was snapped back to attention, and he met Vincent in the center of the ring for a tie-up. Vincent took the advantage, jabbing his thumb into Malone's eye and then following it up with a vicious forearm shot that staggers the former IWO World Champion.

Before Vincent could capitalize; however, the arena was filled with the guitar riffs of a song that stopped Vincent dead in his tracks.

Payback's "Flaw."

Vincent turned to look at Lance Knight as the Pittsburgh native makes his way down the entrance ramp. The look on Vincent's face could best be described as pleasantly surprised, but that quickly transformed into a look of anger as Knight strolled to ringside and stepped up onto the ring apron. He smiled and waved to Vincent before hopping down from the apron; however, the damage had already been done, as Malone capitalized on Vincent's shock and rolled the Sports Entertainment Icon up in a small package.

The jOlt official slid into position and made the count - 1, 2, and 3 - Malone had scored the victory!

Outside the ring, Knight turned, smiling, and made his way back up the ramp. Before he left ringside, though, he picked up the microphone that Vincent had dropped and at the top of the ramp, he turned and smiled at Vincent.

"I guess I saved your segment, huh Trey? Call me when you get your first win, pal."

In the ring, Vincent became extremely irate, and he turned and took his anger out of the first person that he came across - Joey Malone. Without warning, Vincent scooped Malone up into an over-the-shoulder belly-to-back piledriver.

Coming Down.

Still not satisfied, Vincent slid out of the ring and unseated the jOlt timekeeper before folding the man's chair and tossing it back into the ring. Vincent followed the chair closely and positioned it about 18 inches from Malone's prone body. As the fans started to jeer and throw their beverages, Vincent picked Malone up again and dropped him onto the chair with Coming Down.

As jOlt officials came running down alongside paramedics to check on Malone's condition, Vincent smiled smugly and made his way up the ramp and backstage. In spite of releasing some of his aggression, he still looked visibly upset about losing his debut match in jOlt.
