Oct. 6, 2003
Starring: Trey Vincent, Kurt Angel and a bunch of other people
Writer: John Leary
“Alright, Rocker, where do we go from here?” Trey Vincent asked him as they stood beside his forest green Jeep in the parking lot.
“Hopefully not back on the subway with all those immigrants. The man is gay. And he wants to asspound you, Trey.”
Trey cocked an eyebrow at Rocker. “Perhaps there is some truth in there. We need to think of a way to get a lot of power without really trying. So I can fire Kurt Angel.”
“Can we go to the bar and think of ideas?”
“You don’t have to ask me twice,” Vincent said, pulling out his keys to unlock the vehicle.
Meanwhile…
At the Reed Young Memorial Library, Kurt Angel stood, looking at ring Mike Monroe had brought him. Kordell Cronin walked in and stood beside Angel, looking at the ring.
“How long’s it been since you haven’t been a jobber?” Cronin asked.
“Years. I mean, I’m part jobber. But I’m also part human. I’m a jobber with a puppy,” he said, looking at his little puppy sleeping in the corner of the room.
“Well, that’s all gonna change. This ring can make your road to Heaven a lot less turbulent. No broken knees would be a good thing. Cuz, you know, break a knee and poof, you’re gone.”
“I know. But anybody can break a knee at any time. You could be walking down the street and get hit by an 18-wheeler. Or somebody could drop a quarter off their 40th floor apartment and have it become imbedded in your knee. I’m supposed to be here to help people. I’m an Olympic champion. You don’t become an Olympic champion with a ring.”
That’s when Angel picked up a brick and smashed the ring.
“And besides that, it didn’t fit.”
The pair headed toward the door. “Man, it’s a good thing you came when you did. I was about to tell them everything. That the ring was hidden in my pocket. Your mom’s phone number.”
“Say what?”
