Sylo vs. Conan The Leprechaun

PIW Massacre
July 13, 2002

SharcAs soon as this week's telecast of Massacre returns from a commercial break, "Before I Die" by Mushroom begins to play, and out from the back comes Sylo, who certainly looks ready for this one-on-one match-up. He seems very confident as he makes his way to the ring, which comes a week after beating another small PIW superstar, "Big" Little Italy, on last week's episode of Massacre.

With Sylo all ready set for action inside the squared circle, Mike Hunt introduces his opponent, as "All For Me Grog" plays over the PA system. Conan The Leprechaun makes his entrance at this point, drawing a big pop from the crowd along the way. However, Conan looks hurt, which results from the beating he received earlier in the night from Sharc.

After The Leprechaun steps into the squared circle, the bell sounds, and both men tie-up to kick off the match. The much bigger and stronger Sylo easily gains the upper hand, as he manages to toss his adversary into the corner like a rag-doll. Leprechaun tries coming back with a waist-lock, but Sylo just simply backs up and squashes the much smaller Leprechaun into the adjacent corner, before almost beheading him with a huge lariat.

With Sylo firmly in control, "The Sylencer" begins taking his time, kicking his opponent in the head, and then irish whipping him into the corner. After taking more time, Sylo attempts a ram, but ends up going chest-first into the turnbuckle as Lep got out of the way. The five-foot Leprechaun now looks to capitalize, as he jumps on to the back of his opponent, applying a sleeper hold.

Conan hopes to do some damage on Sylo with the hold in place, but that would not be the case. "The One Man Wrecking Crew" tosses Lep over his head with ease, and then manages to follow up with a ram in the corner. Conan crashes to the mat in pain, where he receives consecutive elbows to the sternum, courtesey of the seven-footer.

Sylo is now back in control, and this time, he won't give up the advantage so easily. After drilling Lep with some more punches, Sylo plants him back on the mat with a snap powerbomb. "Sylo must enjoy beating up these midgets," says the hated commentator Vinny Nerdstrom, giving his analysis on the occuring match.

The crowd seems to be rooting on Lep in this one, considering he is the clear under-dog and fan-favorite. The momentum, however, is, without a doubt, in favor of Sylo, who continues the onslaught with a knee to the mid-section. This allows him to execute a gut-wrench suplex, before getting a count of two on the pin after.

"Conan might as well quit," states Nerdstrom again, which causes his partner Mike Brown to object, saying that the word "quit" isn't in The Leprechaun's vocabulary.

Back to the action as Sylo now whips his much-smaller opponent off the ropes. He goes for a clothesline, to which Lep ducks, but Sylo still manages to get in a huge boot to the face, knocking down The Leprechaun in an instant.

"One.... two...." counts referee Brian Winston, who stopped just before three as Lep got the shoulder up. Sylo thought he had the win there, as he starts to argue with the referee about the slow speed of the count. Meanwhile, Lep begins to get to his feet, but Sylo is smart enough to turn around and knock his opponent down again with a hard shot to the back.

Still in control, Sylo ducks his head now after irish whipping Conan off the ropes, and this allows Lep to attempt a sunset flip. Sylo manages to stay up and try to punch him while he is down, but Lep gets out of the way, and "The Destroyer" ends up punching the mat hard.

With Sylo looking to comfort his hand, Lep looks to ceize the rare opportunity, as he nails Sylo's left knee with a dropkick. He then does that same approach two more times, getting Sylo down on one knee, before drilling Sylo with yet another dropkick. This time, the biggest man in PIW is off his feet and down on his back.

Lep begins to head up top at this point, while Sylo is getting back to his feet, and this enables the Leprechaun to hit a nice flying crossbody. "One..... two...." counts Winston, only to stop once again just before three, after Sylo powers his way out.

"Uh-oh!" states Mike Brown, after the sight of Lep's nemesis, Sharc, coming down the aisle. And in his right hand is one of Conan's most important possessions; his helmet.

As soon as the beloved Leprechain spots this, he immediately tries running after him, but unfortunately, the referee gets in his way. In the midst of all this, Sylo gets back up to his feet, and clotheslines Lep down from behind.

Back in control, Sylo just looks to end the match now after under-estimating his smaller opponent. After getting him in position, Sylo executes The Systematic Shutdown, and follows up with the pin to get the three count, and the victory.

"Before I Die" by Mushroom starts up once again, as Sylo walks to the back in triumph, but there's action still going on inside the ring. With Lep down, not moving at all, Sharc slides into the ring, walking around slowly, laughing at his downed nemesis. He stands tall over Lep now, and shakes the helmet right in front of his face, much to the disgust of the crowd, as well as announcer Mike Brown.

"This is uncalled for!" shouts Brown, who is then argued by Nerdstrom again, like always. "What are you talking about?" asks Nerdstrom, being the obnoxious journalist that he is. "The match is over, he's got his helmet, and as far as I'm concerned, he can do whatever the hell he wants."

While Sharc continues to taunt Conan with the helmet, which includes even putting it on, a tear goes down the visage of The Leprechaun. Knowing the damage has been done for one week, Sharc leaves with a big evil smile on his face, along with the thought of getting the better of his rival on this night.
