Sharc vs. ‘Impulse’ Brian James

Players & Pawns
Nov. 30, 2003
Referee: Mark Shields
Writer: Mike Spears

Three of the semifinalists have already been decided, being Max Danger, Rook Black and Hiro Kitagami. The opponent to Hiro would be decided right now.

one.zero.one.

The Seattle crowd got on to their feet and jeered the Wrestling 101 representative to the Player Tournament. As the world’s longest entrance climaxed all over the crowd, quarterfinalist seven, better known as Impulse Brian James walked out to the middle of the walkway, cursing at the fans ringside as the fans tried to make fun of his new pair of flame pants, with pink flames up the sides. Hey! Pink’s a manly color! Trust me! He slid into the ring and mouthed off a bit to Referee Mark Shields who warned him of that he wouldn’t go with the typical trickery that comes with a 101 match, James cursed back at him, saying that the Jamesian Conquest won’t be stopped. James took off his special Dodongo Dislikes Smoke t-shirt and warned the attendant that he tossed it to, that the t-shirt was super-special and he’d kick his fricken’ ass if he lost it. He then climbed a turnbuckle to mouth off with a few fans, and popped down to focus for the upcoming match.

The crowd turned to cheering and gave a good reaction to “Five More Minutes” as the final quarterfinalist was queued to enter. Sharc stepped from the back and walked down to the ring emotionless with his eyes locked with James. He circled the ring, with his eyes on James at all times. Sharc jumped into the ring and raised a fist to the crowd and then removed his Action logo t-shirt and adjusted his taped wrists as the two wrestlers started to circle each other. He had a clear margin over James in weight, weighing a full stone (or twenty pounds, HA! I found a way to work British weight measurements into a match. BOOYAH! ~ $) more than the agile IBJ. James, however, held an edge of five years of experience over “The Future Hardcore Icon.” The two men stared intently at each other while circling, going through their game plan against each the other, when Ref Shields called for the opening bell.

And the two were at each other like two fat kids goin’ after the last drumstick at Thanksgivin’ dinner.

Sharc ran across the ring and took James down with a double leg takedown. From there, he was firmly in control as he started to lay Brian out with alternating forearms to the face. Right! Left! Right! Left! Right! BLOCK! James blocked a left forearm by grabbing Sharc’s wrist, then grabbing the other with his left hand, and powering him over so that he was now the current aggressor. He started to land a few palm attacks to the midsection of Sharc, attempting to hurt the kidneys. Left! Right! Left! Right! Powered out of the hold! Sharc and James easily returned to their feet from the mat. The two locked into a collar-elbow tie up. Both wrestlers tried to gain control and it was Sharc who powered IBJ into a corner.

WHAM!

A club like hit into the chest of James

WHAM!

Club #2 to the chest

WHAM!

And guess what? Another club!

WHAM!

Another club and Sharc pulled James out of the corner into a whip to the walkway-sided ropes. James ricocheted off and got drilled by Sharc with a DDT on the rebound. Sharc turned him over and put him in a vertical press.

“ONE!”

James got his right shoulder up quick and got to his feet. Sharc promptly got James in a headlock, wrenching the cranium of James. After struggling for few moments, James landed elbows onto Sharc’s chest, and then muscled out of the hold. Sharc turned around and got a face full of the Jamesian Conquest.

Sharc, however, believed else wise so he grabbed the foot that was going to snap kick his jaw. James then bounced off the hands of Sharc into a full back flip retreat. IBJ landed like a cat, crouched down and his right hand on the mat. From there he bounced into the air, rotating counterclockwise in air. At the apex of the motion, he came back down with his left leg extending and connecting with an axe kick! The crowd gave a rare pop to Brian James for that maneuver and Shields prepares to make the count when James went for the pin.

“ONE!”

“…”

Mark Shields saw the fist full of silver leatheresque tights of Sharc’s that James had and stopped counting. For James, it was a hell-worthy offense.

“WHAT THE FUCK MAN!?!”

”YOU HAVE HIS TIGHTS IN YOUR HAND!”

“IT DON’T FUCKIN’ MATTER! COUNT THE PIN, BITCH!”

Not giving the chance of Sharc to gain an unexpected attack, James left that argument at that and pulled up Sharc via his red hair. A still stunned Sharc stood stationary as James started to lay in some kicks to the stomach. Sharc stayed up, and James got aggravated and placed “The Mind Manipulator” into an inverted facelock and grabbed his tights.

Spinning Deus Ice!

IBJ, upon connection, pinned Sharc with aid of a hooked leg.

“ONE!”

”TWO!”

In full force, Sharc kicked out, and stayed alive in the tournament. James, however, wanted the match over now. The Firestarter gave the rising Sharc a double finger salute and then gave a stiff boot to the midsection and placed Sharc in a front face lock. James tried to lift Sharc up, but to no avail, Sharc hooked a leg around James’ calf. Another try – Failure. James tried again, but this time Sharc has some momentum and lifted him into the air. James came crashing down to Earth via the Power Side Slam.

“ONE!”

”TWO!”

James got his leg on the bottom rope. Both men took a bit longer to get into their feet; the preliminary signs of fatigue were starting to set in. James charged at Sharc, trying to take him down. Sharc grabbed the right arm and aided James to the ropes. Instead of bouncing off the ropes, James jumped onto the top rope and Asai Moonsaulted onto the upper body of “The New Hardcore Icon.” Sharc used IBJ’s momentum against him and some STANK on it by tilt-a-whirling James around and hit a backbreaker, the crowd exploded at this maneuver. James fell flat onto the mat and Hertz did was basic for him, a pinfall.

“ONE!”

”TWO!”

“T-KICKOUT!”

The crowd was shocked. Sharc was semi-shocked. James, well, he wasn’t that shocked. The two got to their feet and Sharc wanted to get this done.

Sharc Attack

James powered out of it and shoved Sharc into the ropes. Sharc bounced back and James lifted him up with all his might. SPINEBUSTTTTTAAAAH! James is down. Sharc might be out.

“ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!”

James shows some motion

“FIVE! SIX! SEVEN!”

James crawled to the ropes, and got to his feet, much to the chagrin of the crowd. Using the ropes as a guide, he got to the turnbuckle. With one fluid motion, ‘Impulse’ Brian James hopped onto the top turnbuckle. With one fluid motion he flipped off

“ONE”

“TWO”

“THR-KICKOUT!”

Sharc pulled it out. James honestly could not believe how on BLONG’s green Earth that happened. James pulled Sharc to his feet and hooked him.

FIRESTARTER

Except not

At the last second, Sharc used his weight advantage to cause James to fall backwards. Instead of an attempted stalling brainbuster, the move turned into a weaker suplex. Instead of landing the suplex, Sharc slid out of the suplex and hooked James for a move of his own.

BLOOD IN THE WATER

“ONE!”

”TWO!”

”THREE!”

“Five Minutes Alone” played in Safeco and the crowd rose to their feet in cheers. ‘Impulse’ Brian James’ aspirations for the Action! Player Tournament was over. Sharc’s, however, would advance further.

Winner: Sharc via Pinfall, Advances to Action! Player Tournament Semifinals
