Sharc vs. Max Danger
Carnage Championship Match
Pressure Point 64
June 16, 2003
Writer: Michael Dupin
The challenger.
Blood red lighting.
"Disciple".
Slayer.
Sharc.
Boos filled the Providence Civic Center.
He had his trusty barbwire 2x4 slung over his shoulder. Hey, it was a Carnage Championship match. He rolled underneath the bottom rope as the fans continued to jeer the challenger. Sharc walked to all the corners, raising his weapon of choice high into the air.
At the fourth turnbuckle, the lights came back on. It was time for the champion. The King of Submission.
Max Danger.
N.E.R.D.'s "Rock Star" blasted through the speakers. Blue lights began to flicker along the rampway and stage, as The Danger Man and Ms. Danger Man walked through the curtain. The audience, for the most part, screamed out in boos. Danger had the Carnage Championship strapped about his waist. With his right hand he held Jessica's left. At the center of the ramp, Max turned and kissed on her the cheek before streaking down the ramp.
He slid right into the ring. As he stood up he mockingly said, "Oooooh, I'm Sharc and I've got a barbwire piece of wood." Sharc snarled as Danger continued forward. He shouted out of the side of his mouth as he unstrapped the Carnage Championship and tossed it towards the ref, "Ring the bell, Doyle!" Benny Doyle did as he was told.
Ding-Dong, Bitch!
Sharc pulled the 2x4 back and took a massive swing. Max Danger was able to duck underneath it and then sent a crushing, uppercutting elbow smash into the butt of Sharc's jaw. The former PIW Hardcore Champion stumbled backwards. He regripped the barbwire-laced weapon, but Max kicked it out of his hand and out of the ring. Sharc was then blasted with another elbow smash, right between the eyes.
The challenger stumbled back against the ropes. Max held the back of Sharc's head and began to pepper him with eblow smash after elbow smash. Sharc was just smiling, soaking in the pain and punishment.
Danger spun away from Sharc. The Danger Marks, that's his smark fans, cheered wildly. The rest were a bit mixed. They didn't care for either man. Sharc shook his head, and checked his mouth for blood. He found none and then started forward. Max had turned back around and kicked Sharc hard in the mid-section.
An irish whip was reversed by the challenger, but Danger had come back with a spinning heel kick. Sharc got back onto his feet in a hurry and went at Max with a clothesline.
Drop Toe Hold --> Crippler Crossface!
Sharc quickly rolled away before Max could lock it in properly. The Danger Man wasn't about to just settle for a pinfall on this night. He wanted to make Sharc tap out. If that was even possible. Sharc got up onto his feet just as the King of Submission was charging towards him.
Sharc lowered his head for a back body drop, but had done so a tad bit too early, which allowed Max to leap over him for a sunset flip. That wasn't his intentions though as he got onto his feet and held Sharc's legs.
HAMMA JAMMA~!
Sharc pushed Max back before he was able to turn the challenger over. Sharc rolled onto his feet as Max marched towards him. Sharc with for a righthand but Danger blocked and kicked him hard in the leg. He followed it up with another hard elbow smash and then a chop.
"WHOOOOOOOO!"
Danger then whipped Sharc across the ring. Or he would have had Sharc not reversed it. On the return, Max was looking for a clothesline, but Sharc had ducked underneath it. As Max passed by Sharc shot an elbow backwards, catching Max right on his spine. He stumbled forward into the ropes holding his back. From behind Sharc clotheslined the Carnage Champion over the top rope. On the way down, Danger hit is back on the apron and fell to his knees and then flat on his face.
Jessica raced over as Sharc cracked his neck while he looked down at the fallen champion.
The challenger stepped through the ropes just as Danger was starting to get up onto his feet with his wife aiding him. Jessica quickly backed away as Sharc jumped out onto the floor and grabbed her husband. Max was thrown towards the ring, which he ran into back-first. As he staggered from the ring holding his back, Sharc hunkered down and lifted the Danger Man up off the ground and shot him into the air over his head.
CRAAAAAASH!
The King of Submission landed hard, back-first, on the rampway. The people cringed as Danger let out a groan and quickly shot an arm behind his back. Sharc grabbed Max by his hair and pulled him up onto his feet. Sharc attempted to whip the Danger Man into the ring apron again, but Danger was able to reverse the momentum and send Sharc in.
He hit back-first and stumbled away. Max lowered himself to backdrop Sharc onto the ramp.
SHHHHHHAAAAAARRRRCCCCC SMMMMMMAAAAAASSSSSSHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
A double ax-handle across Max's back put a stop to that. Sharc then whipped the King of Submission towards the ring steps. Danger's feet slipped out from under him and he more or less fell downward and slammed his back into the steps.
"OOOOOOOOH!" went the crowd as they know that hurt like hell. Jessica let out a yelp and wanted to go help her husband, but not with Sharc barrelling down on him. Max was trying to pull himself up, but Sharc dove forward. He clotheslined the Carnage Champion. Sharc, himself, glided over the steps, narrowly missing them and tumbling into the guardrail. Max, meanwhile, was halfway up, and when he was clubbed across the chest, he was bent over the steps, with his back digging into the edge ot the steps.
He bent back forward and fell flat on his face. Sharc quickly pulled himself up and straightened out his back. He, too, suffered from back pains. But nothing as serious as the Danger Man. Jessica was knelt beside her husband, caressing his hair as Sharc started towards them. Jessica quickly fell on her backside and scooted away. Sharc grabbed Maax by the hair and back of his tights and tossed him towards the guardrailling, causing the King of Submission to hit in an upside down position in the corner of railing like he had just botched a Flair Flip.
He landed on the back of his neck.
Things weren't looking good for Max Danger. But he was a fighter. He wasn't the Carnage Champion by chance. And the Fans, oddly enough, were more or less behind him. He wasn't the major heel he used to be. Sharc grabbed Max's ankles and pulled him into a backwards roll and then grabbed him by the waist and hoisted him up off the ground.
Chants of "DAN-GER! DAN-GER!" gave Max the strength to throw a back elbow into the face of the former PIW Hardcore Champion. Max drilled him with another one and then a third to get himself free. He hunched over the guardrail though, the pain in his back too new for him to capitalize. Sharc shook his head, clearing the cobwebs, and then charged forward. Max had his arms straight and hands on the railing, but his lower body was jutted out a bit. Leaving room between himself and the railing.
Sharc took care of that unnecessary space.
He had charged forward and gored Max in the back, driving him up against the railing. Sharc then grabbed Max by the back of his tights and yanked him backwards. The Danger Man went stumbling into the ring apron, where Sharc gave him another clothesline, bending him over the apron. Max stumbled forward and took a boot in the stomach, doubling him over.
Sharc placed Max's head between his legs and then lifted him from the ground. And giving the Carnage Champion a taste of his own medicine, Sharc powerbombed Max up against the guardrail! Back and neck took the brunt of the blow. The fans cringed as Max slumped down to the ground with his head drooped over.
Sharc cracked his neck as he moved in.
"DAN-GER! DAN-GER!" rang out through the Providence Civic Center. He wasn't getting Joey Malone levels of cheers. Only about half the crowd was chanting his name. The others were a bit indifferent, not liking either guy. But the smarks, or the Danger Marks as they are sometimes referred to as, were very vocal and were able to get people to chant along with their, uh, chants, since there wasn't another heavy favorite in the ring for them to latch their wagon to.
Sharc grabbed up the Danger Man and chucked him back into the ring. That was the only place he was going to be able to win the match. And by submission was the only way he was going to win the Carnage Championship. It wasn't going to be easy to make Danger tap out though, ask the three men he defeated at Blood, Sweat, & Tears to win the King of Submission Tournament.
Sharc grabbed Danger's legs and catapulted him towards the ropes. Sharc held Max's legs as he hit the ropes and bounced off. He fell right over and onto Sharc's knees! Sharc was then able to put his feet around Max's arms and hold his feet, having him bent over his knees. Oh, the agony.
Jessica was pounding on the ring apron encouraging her husband. Th ref, Benny Doyle, was asking Max if he wanted to give up. Of course the answer was no. But it was his job.
The chant of "DAN-GER! DAN-GER!" came up again. Jessica aided it with her ring apron pounding. Max Danger was used to escaping submissions, even if they were a little unorthadox. He was able to slip an arm free and tilt his body so that he rolled off Sharc's knees. Cheers came from half the crowd. Sharc didn't go back on the attack of the Danger Man, though. Instead he rolled right out of the ring. He was going after Jessica.
He had had the opportunity to get at her before, but had opted not too. But now he had a good chance, seeing as her husband was slightly incompacitated. The fans were booing Sharc. And they weren't super-huge fans of Jessica, either! But Sharc had a look of malice on his face. He advanced on her as Jessica backed away. Oh, she was scared out of her mind.
Sharc wasn't an idiot though. He was backing her around the ring. Despite being at ringside for a long time and being a part of the business with her husband for almost three years, she didn't have the intuitiveness to know what the layout of the ring and its components were, i.e. the ring steps that she had just backed into, hitting her heels on them and causing a slight banging sound.
Sharc came closer and closer. Jessica really had no where to run. Sharc reached out and grabbed her hair. But before he could do anything else, Max Danger had rushed across the ring and, while holding the top rope, shot his body through the ropes and hit Sharc in the head with both feet. Max slid all the way out as Sharc stumbled against the guardrail. Max had hit his back on the apron on the way down. The fans cheered, but his heriocs didn't come without a price. He looked to his wife and asked, "Are you alright?" She shook her head yes.
Max then said, "Go to the back. This isn't safe for you."
She was refusing, but one look into her husband's eyes and she knew he was right. Knew she had to go. "Good luck," she told him, coupled with a kiss. And then she scampered off to the back, just as Sharc came back towards the Danger Man. Max delivered a hard chop to Sharc's chest.
"WHOOOOOOO!"
Danger then kicked him in the stomach and snap suplexed him... onto the ring steps!
"OOOOOOOH!" was the reaction from the crowd. Sharc just lay across the steps. Max had basically released the challenger before he fell all the way back, so as not to hit his head on the steps. He had scooted back against the railing, facing Sharc, and holding his back. Oh, the pain was enormous. He had never been cleared to wrestle.
Not wanting to give Sharc too much time to recover, Max reached up and grabbed the guardrail in order to pull himself up. Several of the fans slapped him on the back, which made him grimace. He turned around and just shot the kids a mean look. He then turned back and went for Sharc. He went to the side of the steps and grabbed Sharc's legs and pulled them up, to roll Sharc over and off the steps. Sharc handed with his head up against the steps and his feet hitting the guardrail.
Max grabbed the back of his pants and pulled him up. He slid Sharc back underneath the bottom rope and then went up the steps himself. Danger slowly climbed through the ropes. Max bent down and grabbed Sharc and pulled him up onto his feet. Danger kicked him in the stomach to double him over and then put his head between his legs. It was time for the Bomb that goes Wild.
Unfortunately, Max's back wouldn't let him lift his challenger off the mat no more than a couple of inches. Sharc then backdropped Danger and landed right onto his chest. Both men were laboring through back problems, but Sharc was on top... literally. He began to pound on the Danger Man's face with hard right fists. Sharc then pushed himself up and reached down and put both hands around Danger's throat. He pulled the Carnage Champion up off the canvas and then shot him towards the corner.
Max hit hard with his back and came staggering out holding his back. The challenger went barrelling into the corner at the Danger Man. Max was unable to move out of the way as Sharc speared him into the corner! Sharc then turned Danger around and began to ram his shoulder into the small of Max's back.
Sharc then grabbed Max and gave him a side russian legsweep out of the corner. Sharc then leaned Max up into a seated position and dug his knee into Danger's back and pulled back on his arms for the surfboard. Sharc kept yanked back on the arms, putting more pressure on Danger's back.
Max began to slam the heel of his shoes onto the mat, trying to get himself going. The fans took that as a cue to start clapping. The Danger Marks started it. Stomping their feet and clapping their hands. Sharc, however, wasn't going to let the King of Submission escape so easily, so he applied the body scissors!
Actual wrestling from the former PIW Hardcore Champion.
He had to do it, otherwise he wouldn't walk out of the match the Carnage Champ. He knew this. Sharc wasn't an idiot.
Sharc also applied a rear chinlock with the body scissor. Maximum damage. Danger again pounded the heel of his shoe onto the mat, as the fans started to get going again. Half of them at least. The Danger Man attempt to pry Sharc's legs apart. Slowly but surely he was getting the job done. He was able to pull them apart, and held him underneath his arms.
Danger then turned himself over onto his stomach, which caused his challenger to do the same. Max then rolled forward, holding Sharc's legs as he did and went right into Dangerous VII! The inverted Boston Crab!!
Wow!
Sharc, however, just smiled as he powered his legs and pulled Danger right back over onto his stomach! Sharc then slide back onto Danger's back and locked in the camel clutch!
That was neat.
Danger reached up with his arms and latched them behind Sharc's head. The camel clutch wasn't the best due to Sharc only really having Max's head. Max pulled forward as he did a forward roll, and ended up sitting on Sharc, with his face pointing towards Sharc's legs.
All the rolling back and forth and contorting of the bodies wasn't doing any man any favors. Danger, however, stood up, only to be grabbed by the back of his tights and pulled down and into a backward roll. Danger stopped on his knees as Sharc rolled into a kneeling position. Sharc and Max both stood at the same time.
Both men charged at one another. Sharc went for the clothesline as Max ducked underneath it and continued to the ropes. On the rebound, Sharc was waiting for the Danger Man with his head lowered. Max stopped and put Sharc's head between his legs. Wild Bomb? He let out a loud scream as he tried to power Sharc up. It just wasn't happening. Sharc grabbed Danger's legs and knocked him down onto his back.
He then catapulted the King of Submission into the corner. Max had landed on the middle turnbuckle, luckily, but Sharc was right there, jumping up onto the middle turnbuckle with him. He looked for a russian legsweep off the ropes, but Danger caught him with a back elbow. Max then wrapped his legs around Sharc's head, having used the top rope to lift himself, and pulled him over the top rope and to the floor with a hurricanrana!!
"HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT!"
Max had just barely missed cracking his skull open on the ring apron. Sharc had landed with a resounding THUD! on the thin protective mats. Both men were down as the crowd just was going crazy, standing and clapping.
Slowly but surely both men started to get up. Each holding their backs, although Sharc wasn't showing any pain on his face. Just competely emotionless. Danger spun around and charges towards him.
Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker.... ON THE GUARDRAIL!!!!
Danger was driven right onto the guardrail, full on his back. Sharc dropped to one knee as Danger was suspended across the railing, nearly taking an old woman's face off, and then Sharc pulled down on Danger's chin, flipping him back to ringside onto his back.
Another "HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT!" chant broke out and a massive amount of boos from the Danger Marks. Sharc stood up and leaned on the railing for a bit. He reached down after only a moments rest and pulled the King of Submission up off the ground. He lifted Max up onto his shoulder and stood a moment to make sure he was able to handle the weight. He then charged forward, pulling Max down into powerslam position and then rammed him back-first into the ring post!
Sharc then adjusted the champion on his shoulder, and then charged away from the ringpost and actually hit the powerslam on the floor! Sharc rolled away and sat for a moment as the fans booed him more. Sharc was seeing the blood now. He could taste it. He grabbed Max by his shaggy hair and pulled him up onto his feet. Sharc lifted him back up onto his shoulder.
Two times was going to be too many though, as the King of Submission slipped down Sharc's back and pushed his challenger into the ring post. Sharc's head bounced off the steel and he stumbled against the guardrail. He was leaning against it with his arms draped over the sides. Danger had dropped to his knees, holding his back, as the pain just coursed through every inch of his body.
Taking time off following Juggernaut II was pretty much pointless, seeing as how much damage his back was taking in this contest. Sharc was able to stand up first and shook his head so that he would no longer be seeing stars. He started forward and Max, from his knees, slammed an elbow smash into his stomach. Sharc took a step back but quickly shook it off and came back again. Max drilled him with another one, but a hard elbow onto the top of the Danger Man's head stopped his comeback cold.
Sharc walked from Danger then and pushed the defenseless time keeper out of his chair and didn't even use it! Instead, he took Pat Hoskins'... while he was sitting in it! The fans booed some more, although, admiittedly, that was funny. Sharc headed back for the Danger Man, who was still down on his knees.
Sharc pulled the chair back and was looking to, well, it was pretty obvious, wasn't it? Before he could bring the chair back towards Danger, Max had rolled forward and connected with a koppou kick onto Sharc's chin! Sharc dropped the chair as he stumbled backwards from the surprise shot.
Danger then leapt up and put his feet on Sharc's thighs and held his head. He was looking to give the challlenger a monkey flip, but instead, Sharc blocked and gave Max a spinebuster onto the chair!
Damn.
Sharc checked his chin for blood, but there was none. He reached down and pulled the chair out from underneath the Carnage Champion. He unfolded the chair and placed it down onto the ground. He then lifted up Max Danger and sat him onto the ring apron. The fans were murmuring, wondering what Sharc was going to do. He climbed up onto the apron as well and then lifted Max into a standing position.
He then pulled Danger's head back into an inverted front face lock. Oh, it was definitely not going to be good. An inverted DDT from the apron onto the chair? Holy fuck. Sharc, however, was unable to get the move off, as Max held onto the ropes with right leg and began slamming his elbow into Sharc's midsection with his right elbow. Sharc releasaed the Danger Man, and took a hard back elbow in the face. Max then grabbed Sharc and was looking to give him the Original Slam!
Sharc blocked by holding onto the ropes!
Sharc stomped on Danger's foot and then lifted him up onto his shoulders. Max was holding onto the top rope for dear life, not wanting to be tossed onto that chair. Instead of trying to pull Danger free of the ropes and tossing him down onto the chair, he flipped his feet up and sent him back into the ring. He hadn't thought about Max landing on his feet, though, and then having Danger ram a shoulder into his gut. With him doubled over, Max held onto the top rope and slingshot himself over the top rope, cringing as he did so.
He grabbed Shar's thighs on the way over, looking to pull him off with the powerbomb. His feet landed on the ground, but Sharc had a tight grip on the ropes. His knuckles were white, he was holding on so tightly. Danger was straining to try and pull Sharc off, but it wasn't working. The fans were cheering him on, they had anticipated it happening. During that whole ring apron face-off the Danger Marks had had about twenty collective heart attacks.
Now, they were chanting for their hero, "DAN-GER! DAN-GER!"
Max had to let go of Sharc, because he wasn't going to pull him off. After Danger had released him, Sharc had loosened his grip. Max was still right there though and pulled his feet out from under him, causing him to fall and hit his face on the apron. Danger then grabbed him from behind, but Sharc quickly shot his hands out and around the bottom rope, preventing Max from hitting a German Suplex.
A kick backwards and upwards, between the Danger Man's legs got the champion to let go. Sharc then turned around and grabbed Max for a DDT. He held his tights and was looking to hit the elevated version, but Max had blocked and looked to counter with a Northern Lights Suplex!
Sharc kicked his legs wildly, preventing it from happening, and slammed a left forearm across Max's back. He pulled Danger up and went right into the power side slam move(Emerald Fusion), but Danger was able to slip out and ended up standing on the chair, which had been behind Sharc the whole time. Of course he'd try to hit an elevated DDT onto the chair. Wouldn't you?
Anyway, the King of Submission jumped off the chair and up onto Sharc's shoulders. Danger spun around on the shoulders and tried a hurricanrana! Sharc blocked and got the boston crab!! Danger grabbed the chair and folded it up. He swung it over his head and smacked Sharc in the back of the head. Luckily, it had been hard enough to cause the challenger to release the hold.
Danger slowly pushed himself up as Sharc shook the chairshot off and turned around. He came at Max, only to get the end of the chair in his stomach. Sharc doubled over, which allowed Max to slam the chair down across his back! The fans were cheering as Sharc dropped down onto one knee. Danger then unloaded, looking for that homerun swing, only Sharc had ducked. He low blowed the Danger Man!
The chair fell harmlessly to the ground as Sharc grabbed Danger's head and lifted him up off the ground.
Elevated DDT!
Danger's skull was driven into the not-so-protective matting!
"OOOOOH!" went the crowd as they all cringed.
Both men were down. Sharc was actually there, he was just letting the pain of his back flow through him. Letting it subside a bit. Max, well, he was pretty much out of it. Sharc was going to have to get the Danger Man into the ring, otherwise he wasn't going to be able to win the title.
Sharc sat up then and then got up onto his feet. He reached down and pulled Danger up and then rolled him into the ring. Sharc slid in after Max. Sharc pulled the King of Submission up onto his feet and clubbed him across the face with a hard right hand, closed-fist style. Sharc then grabbed Max about the waist, from his side and lifted him off the ground. He then dropped down to a knee, bringing Danger's back across it for the backbreaker.
Sharc held Max there, pushing down on his chin and leg. The pain was excrutiating. He pushed Danger off his knee after it was apparent that he was going to give up. Sharc grabbed Max by the hair and pulled him up off the canvas. He went for an irish whip, but Max, somehow, was able to reverse the momentum. He sent Sharc towards the corner and then charged in after him.
Sharc hit the turnbuckles and took a step out just as Danger approached. He quickly took the Carnage Champion down with a drop toe hold, knocking Max into the turnbuckles. Sharc quickly got up and hit Danger in the back with a dropkick! Sharc pulled Danger up from the corner and looked for the reverse DDT. He dropped down, slamming Max down onto the canvas.
The former PIW Hardcore Champion was in firm control. The fans were booing him and cheering the Danger Man. Sharc lifted him off the mat again and shot him into the ropes. Max had the where with all(is that one word or three?) to leap onto the ropes and springboard back with a double ax-handle, catching Sharc right on top of the head! Sharc fell onto his back as Max landed on his knees. He took several deep breaths, trying to get the pain to go away, but it wasn't going to. He forced himself to get up and then ran towards the ropes.
Sharc was up in an instant. Max didn't realize that his challenger was right behind him. Danger had leapt onto the middle rope and was looking for the springboard moonsault. But Sharc was there just as Danger was pushing off. He had wrapped his arms around the Danger Man's waist and used Max's own momentum to give him a German Suplex... RIGHT ON HIS NECK!
The crowd cringed on impact. The King of Submission was nearly folded in half! Sharc wasted no time. He grabbed Danger's legs, which were bent over him, and turned him over for the Boston Crab! It was going to be over.
Danger was obviously knocked loopy. He wasn't unconscious, but damn near it. Sharc sat back as far as he could, as the fans began to chant "DAN-GER! DAN-GER!" Things were looking bleak for the Carnage Champion. The Danger Marks lead a cheer for Max. Stomping their feet and clapping their hands. A good majority didn't join in on the festivities, opting rather to boo. But either way, the arena was filled with noise.
Danger was reaching out, like for the ropes, but even if he could get to them, they wouldn't matter. There was no rope breaks in these types of matches. Sharc continued to lean back. He wasn't sitting on Danger's back yet, but he was just barely hovering over it, while bending the legs back further than one man's legs should be bent back.
The crowd continued to react one way or another. Danger was screaming out as he positioned his hands underneath him and attempted to push-up out of the submission.
No go.
He took several deep breaths after shouting, "NEVER!" to Benny Doyle. And he then attempted to push-up a second time. He had gotten about two inches off the ground before Sharc jumped up and slammed all his weight down onto Danger's back! He screamed in agony as Sharc repositioned himself and pulled back harder.
It was over. You could just sense it. The Danger Man's reign as Carnage Champion was going to come to a close in Providence, Rhode Island. What a shitty place to lose a championship. He took down his arch-nemesis, Conrad Ramsey, in a hellacious bout in Madison Square Garden at Juggernaut II. But it was going to be all for not, as Sharc was going to come out on top.
"LET'S GO DAN-GER!" (Clap, Clap, Clap) "LET'S GO DAN-GER!" (Clap, Clap, Clap)
The Danger Marks weren't giving up though. They had faith. Danger had never let them down before, and he wasn't going to do so tonight.
Danger let out another mighty roar as he attempted to power out. He was shaking as he poured every ounce of energy he had left into this one move. Sharc was starting to straighten up. He was almost about to fall over. He was going to have his submission broken!
Danger was about to get it!
"DAN-GER! DAN-GER!"
Sharc stepped over Danger's body and dropped an elbow onto his back!
Damn.
Sharc then remounted the King of Submission's back and reapplied the move.
Boos rang out throughout the Providence Civic Center.
Danger was losing all hope. Losing every last drop of energy. He was almost unable to go on anymore. He was almost ready to pass out. His eyes were fluttering.
That was, of course, before she returned.
She?
Jessica, dumbasses.
She came back down the ramp. Not running, but at a brisk pace. A speed walk almost. She was clapping her hands and shouting, "COME ON, BABY!" Danger had opened his eyes and had seen the beautiful woman he had, somehow, convinced to be his wife.
She was pounding on the ring apron. Urging her husband on. Getting the Danger Marks back into this thing. She was his driving spirit.
Max closed his eyes again and took a moment to center his energy. Make sure that he would be able to make one last surge.
And up he came. Off the mat that is. He was screaming out as his wife was watching eagerly. Hopeful that he could do it. The Danger Marks were cheering wildly. Danger was powering his way out of it. And... he... was... FREE!!!
Jessica cheered for joy. Sharc stumbled forward, having been forced out of his hold. He spun around and his eyes locked in on Jessica's. Oh, Sharc was not happy. He went out of the ring on the opposite side as Jessica and picked up his forgotten barbwire 2x4.
"OOOOOOH!"
Sharc looked at it and then pointed it across the ring at Jessica. She was absolutely terrified. Sharc started around the ring. Slowly. Like a horror movie. Just stalking the helpless female. Eventually, she would fall. Yup. She fell. Typical. Sharc continued to advance on Jessica.
She pulled herself up and then rolled into the ring. She started to crawl away from the ropes, but Sharc had grabbed her foot! The fans were booing Sharc loudly. Jessica was fighting for her life, trying to get her foot free. Danger had gotten up. Back filled with pain. He grabbed his wife's hands and was pulling her free of Sharc's grasp.
The crowd cheered as Danger pulled his wife free. They both fell backwards with Jessica falling on top of her husband. He grunted as he hit on his back. Sharc cracked his neck as he climbed onto the apron and then into the ring. He looked down at the couple and shook his head. An evil look on his face.
He lifted the barbwire 2x4 high above his head and sent it crashing down... into the mat! Max had pushed his wife one way and he had rolled the other. Max then kicked the 2x4 out of Sharc's hands and into the ropes.
Kip up! He kicked at Sharc! Sharc caught the foot and spun the Danger Man around.
Sharc Attack!
Danger blocked and pushed Sharc to the ropes. Jessica had crawled to the corner. Sharc bounced off the ropes and Danger dropkicked him in the knees!
Sharc fell face-first into the canvas. Danger lay on the mat for a moment, waiting for the pain to subside again, and then got onto his feet. Sharc had pushed himself up onto his knees as Danger rushed towards him.
RAM!
YOU!
FACE!
Sharc ducked!
Danger spun around as Sharc got up onto his feet. Max charged at Sharc again. Kick to the stomach. Oh shit.
BLOOD IN THE WATER~!
Danger flipped out behind Sharc, but Sharc was ahead of Max and was ready to hit the Shark Attack!! Danger blocked and wrapped his legs around Sharc's ankles and took him down to the ground with a modified drop toe hold. Danger rolled up Sharc's body and locked in the Crippler Crossface!
Jessica had climbed out of the ring, thankfully, and was cheering her husband on. Danger's back was just killing him as he pulled back with all his might. Sharc, however, didn't seemed to mind the discomfort. He was smiling like a madman. The Danger Marks were chanting their hero's name, but it didn't matter.
Sharc was able to pry Danger's hands from his face!
Sharc was starting to push himself up as Danger ran to the ropes.
Springboard moonsault onto Sharc's oft-injured back!
Max rolled away from Sharc, holding his own back. He really needed to stop doing that move. Did him NO favors.
Danger crawled over. Coming into the match all he wanted to do was match Sharc tap out, and that hadn't changed one bit. Sharc had tried to harm his wife, and he just wasn't going to let him get a way with that.
Danger hit the modified Double Jeopardy! He was sitting on his ass instead of laying on his back this time. The dragon sleeper was locked in tight and Sharc's body was bent in a way that was probably not healthy.
Danger's own back was just screaming at him to stop. Let go and just go the hell home. But his back was stupid. Sharc, however, just smiled from ear to ear. Sick freak!
Benny Doyle asked Sharc if he wanted to give it up, and Sharc just laughed. Very sinister.
The King of Submission released the dragon sleeper and pushed Sharc onto his face. Max then slowly started to pull Sharc up to his feet. He was going to attempt it again. The Wild Bomb. He had been unsuccessful the two times previous, but he wanted to hit it so badly.
He placed Sharc's head between his legs and wrapped his arms around his waist. He attempted to lift Sharc up, but it didn't happen. He stood there for a moment, holding Sharc, preparing himself for another attempt. The crowd was chanting, "WILD BOMB! WILD BOMB!", encouraging the Danger Man to hit it.
As he had done many times before, Danger cried out, "AAAAAAAAAH!" as he powered his opponent up.
BOOM!
WWWWWIIIIIIIILLLLLLLDDDD BBBBBOOOOOOMMMMMBBBBBBB!!!!!
Danger was looking for the Hammer Jammer! Sharc was scooting on his back. Trying to prevent it. He had reached out and grabbed the barbwire 2x4! Jessica had run around and grabbed it, too! Her had was cut, but it had given Danger the chance to STOMP ON SHARC'S FACE!!!
Danger grabbed the barbwire 2x4 and chucked it out of the ring and onto the ramp. He then reached through the ropes and asked if Jessica was alright. She shook her head, but before anything could be exchange between the two, Sharc had low blowed the King of Submission!
SHARC ATTACK!!!
BLOCKED, BITCH!
Danger had wrapped his arm around the top rope, at the very last second, to prevent it. Sharc turned and drove a knee hard into Danger's stomach and then set up for the BLOOD IN THE WATER~!
Jessica punched Sharc's foot, trying to help, but it didn't work. All it resulted in was an injured hand for Jessica. Luckily she had used the cut one. So, all on the same hand. Danger, however was able to kick his legs wildly and slipped from Sharc's grasp. He had fallen over the to rope, though, and onto the apron.
Sharc punched Max hard in the face but Max responded by jumping off the bottom rope and kicking Sharc in the head! Sharc took one step back as Danger jumped onto the top rope and springboarded in. It was another double ax-handle attempt, but Sharc had ducked underneath it. Max had flown in sideways and landed in a sideways roll. Once he had gotten onto his feet he had staggered a bit. Sharc then charged towards him.
Max was able to meet the spear attempt with.... RAMYOUFACE!!!!
BOSTON CRAB!!!!
ELEVATED-STYLE!!!!
Sharc was just smiling, though. God, he was weird. Danger put a knee onto the back of Sharc's head and pulled back on his legs. Chris Benoit would be proud. Benny Doyle was right there, asking Sharc if he wanted to give it up. He apparently did not. Danger kept pulling back as hard as he could.
Jessica was cheering him on, slapping the ring apron with her non-injured left hand. Luckily, that was the one she held her husband's hand with. 'Course, she wrote with her right, but she'd deal.
Sharc wasn't going to tap out, but Max wasn't going to release for any reason whatsoever.
Somehow, he was fighting out of the hold. Danger was going to have to use a new strategy. Danger still held the hold though, just in case. But Sharc had gotten Danger to remove the knee from the back of his head and had virtually turned the hold into a regular boston crab. Stupid Sharc.
He was able to power out. Kinda, yeah, just there. Danger stumbled into the ropes after having his boston crab escaped. He was holding his back, as that was not the best move for your back. Then again, no move was. Sharc crawled to the ropes and pulled himself up. He was still smiling.
Sharc and Danger then started away from the ropes. Sharc charged in, looking for a clothesline, but Danger got his forearms up and drove a knee into Sharc's stomach. Danger then kicked at Sharc, but the former PIW Hardcore Champion had caught it. He spun Danger around, who fired off DANGEROUS III!!!!
Sharc was almost down, and the Carnage Champion took him down with the STO!
HAMMER JAMMER!!!
Sharc was in a bad way, though the expression on his face didn't realize anything of the sort. But he refused to give up. Jessica and the Danger Marks continued to cheer on the Danger Man. Sharc started for the ropes. Not that they would break the hold, but it was a good thing to use to try and escape. He was moving towards them. Danger was sitting back as far as he could.
Time to change it up.
SPINEBREAKER!!!!
He was swiping Sharc's own hold! Sharc reached out for the ropes, but it wasn't happening. The sharpshooter/chinlock combination was deadly. Danger held it with vigor, whatever that meant.
Slowly Sharc began to slip. He was nearly gone. Benny Doyle was asking him, but was getting no response. With a smile etched across his face, Sharc's hand was raised.
"ONE!" shouted the crowd as it dropped to the canvas.
Again Doyle lifted it.
"TWO!" they shouted again on the second drop.
One more and Max Danger would have successfully retained the Carnage Champion.
"THREE!"
Goddamnit! Sharc's arm stayed up. He was back alive!!! Danger wretched at the hold. Sharc was still trying to fight. Still trying to reach the ropes.
But... he just couldn't go any further. Still, smiling from ear to ear, the lights went out. Not in the arena, but inside Sharc. He had lost consciousness.
Benny Doyle did his job. Three arm raises and three drops lead to the bell ringing and the playing of "Rock Star". Danger released the hold and rolled to the ropes. He was completely exhausted. His back was just in utter pain. He fell off the apron and onto the floor. Benny Doyle got the Carnage Championship and handed it to Jessica, who then bent down beside her husband.
That was becoming a common occurance, Jessica kneeling beside her husband after a grueling match-up. Her hand was bleeding from the barbwire and she was holding it in her shirt. Wasn't going to be able to wear that one anymore. Danger pushed himself up into a sitting position and grabbed her hand. He kissed it(ew). Together the two stood up. Max was just bruised. His back was not supposed to be that color.
The Danger Marks roared with delight for the victor. But Sharc had been close. Oh so close. The power of love was just too strong... or something. Max and Jessica headed towards the back, kicking the barbwire 2x4 out of the way. It was good to be King.
