Ride of Your Life: III
Pressure Point 59
May 5, 2003
Starring: Kayden Paulton
Kayden stood by the side of the road where Fiend's thugs had left him. He was out in the woods in the middle of nowhere without a car in sight.
But he remained in high hopes, whistling the tune of "Gilligan's Island" as he held his thumb out in the hopes of getting a lift back into town.
There were no headlights in sight.
He still just grinned stupidly at the direction a vehicle would come.
And one was coming.
A pick-up truck began to make it's way slowly down the road, and Kayden began jumping around like a mad man in front of the vehicle.
It slowed down, and Kayden stepped to the side waiting for it to come to a halt.
He ran to the window of the truck, but he looked down the road in the direction which he'd come from. He wasn't paying attention to the driver, he just spat some words at him.
"Hey there, I gotta get back into Pittsburgh. To the Civic Arena, how far can you take me?" he asked.
He turned to look at the driver, but two arms came out of the window and pulled him half into the vehicle. Kayden could be heard grunting as whoever was in the truck was beating on him good.
He was thrown out of the truck and the door swung open. The driver, in a green John Deere hat and flannel shirt stood over him. He gave him a stomp in his work boots before he took his hat off.
There was a mohawk.
The fans in the arena booed loudly as they'd clicked onto who it was standing over the body of Kayden Paulton.
He grinned as Kayden rolled around clutching his ribs and groaning.
The camera panned in on the man they call...
Fiend.
"Don't you wanna play anymore, Kay?" he asked.
He laid one more boot in before climbing back into the pick-up truck and heading back toward Pittsburgh.
The camera remained on the bruised up Paulton as he lay there clutching his sides.
Fiend had made another nice swerve.
