Kayden Paulton vs. Fiend
Pressure Point 56
April 14, 2003
The Tragically Hip's "Silver Jet" hit the P.A. system and the fans inside the arena knew it was time for the Nicest Guy in Wrestling to make his appearance in the ring.
It was time for one on one action. Pardon the pun.
Paulton came out from the back and the fans cheered loudly as he came out with his fist high in the air. The fans gave a great reaction to him. And they popped all the more just for the fact he was wrestling tonight.
He made his way down the ramp, slapping hands with young kids on the way down. He stepped up the ring steps and through both fists into the air as the music changed.
"Material Christ" by Poison the Well.
Fiend.
Boo.
The fans gave Fiend a warm welcome of boos and jeers after last week's display of knocking out Brock Shepherd and breaking his hand just for a laugh. But the boos were mainly because he had earnt a Hell of a lot of respect for his talent after his first official match with Max Danger, where he narrowly missed out on the Action! Carnage title.
Fiend bounced his head from one shoulder to the other before rolling his shoulders. He then made his way down the ramp pulling his arm across his chest, then switching arms. He made his way up ring steps and along the apron.
He peered at the fans before pounding the fist of his right hand into his other and cracking his knuckles. He stepped through the ropes as Paulton outstretched a pre-match handshake.
Fiend kicked him and drove his noggin hard into the canvas with a simple DDT.
Boo.
Paulton got up and charged forward with a lariat, but Fiend stepped to the other side and slapped Paulton across the face. They began the blow-for-blow routine, which Paulton started.
Punch from Kayden.
Punch from Fiend.
Punch from Kayden.
Punch from Fiend.
Punch from Kayden.
Punch from Fiend.
Punch from Kayden.
Punch from Fiend.
Punch from Fiend.
Fiend took the advantage and punched his way into the corner where Paulton was receiving all sorts of fists into his head. The referee got between them, trying to discourage Fiend from using fists.
A threat from Fiend let the referee know that annoying him wasn't a good idea. Fiend returned his attention back to the corner where Kayden exploded out with a lariat. Fiend crashed down to the canvas where Paulton dropped and gave some fists of his own to the head of Fiend.
Paulton put Fiend into a head scissors, a simple yet effective move just to drain a little of the energy from one's opponent. Kayden pulled tighter and tighter as the referee checked on Fiend. But Fiend was still fine, and managed to get onto his knees with Paulton's legs still wrapped tightly around his head and neck.
Kayden let the hold go and they both got to their feet where they began to tie it up, but Fiend overpowered him and pulled him into a side-headlock. Struggling to get free, Paulton jammed his elbow into the ribs of Fiend and the fans began to get behind him.
"PAUL-TON! PAUL-TON! PAUL-TON!"
"SHADDAP!" Fiend screamed at the fans.
There was no chance he was going to let Kayden Paulton get these freaks behind him so soon.
Fiend threw his own legs out from underneath him and fell forward with Paulton's head still firmly under his arm. He drove Paulton into the canvas for a variation of the DDT. Paulton lay there for a second just to catch his breath, but it was not going to happen.
Pulling him to his feet, Fiend whipped him across the ring into the ropes, and then sent himself into the ropes. As they met in the middle, Fiend jumped into the air and took Paulton down with a jumping shoulderblock. Fiend bounced back to his feet as Paulton gasped for air.
Fiend began to choke him, without hiding it from the referee.

Fiend let go of the choke just to let the referee know what Fiend was personally gonna do to him. But Fiend got Paulton to his feet nonetheless. Setting up for a double underhook manoeuvre, Fiend smiled at the fans before driving Paulton's face into the canvas with a bulldog.
Kayden lay there for a second as Fiend moved to his legs, lifting one up into the air. Fiend booted him in the inside of his left thigh, repeatedly. After about five kicks, Fiend lifted Kayden into the air by his foot, the slammed his knee down hard into the canvas.
Paulton clutched at his knee as the Colour Red grinned sadistically at the booing fans. They did not like the treatment their hero was receiving from the man in the ring.
Fiend pulled him to his feet and kicked him hard in the left knee. Paulton dropped to his knees and Fiend slapped him hard across the face and then shoved to the canvas, flat on his back, to the fans disapproval. A soda can hit him in the back of the head, so Fiend picked it up.
He sat it on the fallen Paulton's chest, raising his foot above the can and the body of the breathing Paulton and he crushed it on Kayden's chest, also expelling all oxygen from his body.
Fiend picked the can up as Paulton rolled around clutching his ribs and he threw it into the crowd. Helping Kayden onto his feet, Fiend whipped him across the ring into the corner, before charging in after him.
But he was met with two of Kayden's knees into his chin, which flawed him to the canvas. Kayden pulled himself up onto the second turnbuckle before leaping off with an elbowdrop, which connected with his heart.
The fans cheered as Paulton used the ropes to get himself to his feet, rubbing his chest from the can crushing incident.
Kayden pulled Fiend onto his feet, trying to mount some offence on the Archetype of Evil. He whipped him into the canvas and leapt into the air for a standing dropkick, but found himself with nothing but fresh air.
The fans booed as they noticed Fiend had clutched himself to the ropes. He hung there for a second as Paulton sat up, rubbing the back of his head. He began to make his way over and stomped at Paulton, but he rolled out of the way and kicked Fiend's legs out from under him.
The fans cheered as both were snappy getting up onto their feet, trying to figure out what the other was going to do next. Fiend grinned evilly, Kayden grinned stupidly.
The pair tied up, this time with Kayden pulling Fiend into a side headlock, the fans cheered. But Fiend was already onto it with an elbow into Kayden's ribs. Paulton didn't want to hang onto him any longer with the rib shots he'd already received so he shoved Fiend into the ropes.
Fiend rebounded from the ropes, charging at the Silver Jet, but Paulton bounded over the top of him. Fiend bounced across to the other side and rebounded with more fury, but this time Kayden dropped to the canvas, Fiend leapt across the top of him.
Fiend rebounded a third time.
Both men found themselves laid out on the canvas from a double clothesline. Fiend landed messily on his head and shoulder. Kayden's head smashed back into the canvas. The fans began to rally.
"KAY-DEN!
KAY-DEN!
KAY-DEN!"
The fans tried to get some momentum behind the man they wished would put Fiend out of action.

2.
The referee had begun to count. Kayden sat up to a chorus of cheers which bellowed around the arena. Fiend's hands came to his shoulder.
3.
Kayden rolled over onto his hands and knees. Fiend got one leg up into a position which would help him stand. Then slowly the other.

6.
Kayden knelt as the fans got louder. Fiend leant back onto his hands and pushed up into a crouching position, just resting there to get his bearings back.
7.
8.
Kayden got to his feet and staggered about.
9.
Fiend stood and they both met up in the centre. They began to trade punches before Kayden Paulton, the Silver Jet, came out on top, punching Fiend into the ropes and he whipped him across the ring into the ropes. Fiend bounced off fiercely and found the taste of Paulton's boots quite grinding against his chin as Paulton executed a dropkick.
Fiend bounced back up from the canvas and charged forward to find himself down again from a Paulton lariat. The fans were getting louder still.
Fiend got up and charged again and Paulton spun him around before driving him into the canvas with a tilt-a-whirl slam. The fans were on their feet supporting Paulton with all their might.
Kayden slowly stood Fiend up, lifted him up and planted him into the canvas with a brainbuster, scrambling over for the cover...

3...!
NO! KICKOUT!
Fiend sat up and Paulton dragged him to his feet with a handful of mohawk. He kicked him in the midsection and grounded him with a DDT. Kayden thought it were time for another cover and the fans roared with delight.
1...
2...
Shoulder-up easily from Fiend as Kayden checked with the referee for a third count. But the fans showed the disgust for what they thought were a dyslexic referee.
But Kayden continued with his pursuit for victory, pulling Fiend up onto his feet, he grabbed his hands and turned him around for a Sicilian neckbreaker. He thought against his better judgement and thought it would be better to continue the assault to ensure a pinfall.
He made good with another neckbreaker as he stood up Fiend, only to ground him with a swinging neckbreaker, creating some pressure on the neck of the Archetype of Evil. But Kayden was finished yet.
Kayden dragged the body of Fiend across the ring, laying him about a metre from the corner and looked at the fans, then up to the top rope. The fans showed their appreciation for the thought of Kayden getting airborne for them.
They became confused when he walked to the opposite corner and began climbing. That's when they popped even louder. Kayden stood on the top rope and waved to the fans before pretending to sharpen his elbow.
He looked across the ring and took a deep breath for the flight at hand.
He leapt with elbow targeting the victim across the ring, he was right online for a pinfall.
But he got fresh canvas.
Last second, Fiend rolled himself out of the ring to the sound of disappointed fans. Kayden just clutched his rather sore elbow inside the ring as he rolled around.
Fiend used the guardrail to get to his feet as fans shouted some abuse at them. Fiend threatened to punch a nearby fans which struck security guards to protect. The fans that is.
Having finally gotten to his feet, Fiend grinned an evil grin. He bounced his head from one side to the other before reaching forward and taking Paulton by the ankle. He pulled him outside of the ring.
The fans began to boo and the referee began to warn. Fiend's immediate reaction was to whip Kayden into the ring steps. But it didn't go to plan, Kayden reversed it.
Fiend tumbled forward and collided head first with a sickening clang. The steps exploded from the position and were sent in all directions. Fiend just lay there like he were out cold. Kayden looked to the referee for instructions.
The referee looked around as if he were unsure. Kayden made his way to the announce table and asked for a first aid kit when the fans began to boo loudly. Fiend had gotten up. His face hidden behind a crimson mask and he was grinning from ear to ear.
He ran his finger across his forehead and tasted the blood to the fans disgust.
Paulton turned around and winced as he saw the bloody gash on Fiend's forehead. Or he winced from the grin rather. Fiend slowly made his way forward toward Kayden.
The Silver Jet made his way to the ring and rolled under the bottom rope. Fiend followed and stalked him in the ring. Kayden swung a punch and smacked it clean on Fiend's chin. But it was a no sell.
He tried again before receiving one for his one troubles. Fiend snapped a kick into Kayden's guts before putting him up in his shoulders into a torture rack. Fiend bounced and laughed as the fans booed.
Trying to free himself, Kayden found himself in a rather trapped situation. But found himself swung out and with a knee in his back for a backbreaker.
The fans gasped at the interesting manoeuvre that Fiend just executed. Paulton just clutched at his lower spine as Fiend got him to his feet again, much to Kayden's disapproval and pain.
Fiend grabbed Kayden by the arm and whipped him across the ring into the ropes and the fans, though firmly against what was going to happen, cheered for the most conscious knocking move in Action! Wrestling's history.
But someone jumped over the guard rail.
Some grabbed a chair.
Someone swung hard and smashed Kayden in the back of his noggin when he hit the ropes.
Kayden fell face first into the canvas as the fans booed loudly.
That someone just grinned a wicked grin, one which would match Fiend's tooth for tooth.
That someone was...
SHARC!
The fans booed loudly as Sharc threw the chair aside and the referee called for the bell. The bell tolled and Kayden Paulton was announced the winner by disqualification.
The fans cheered loudly as Fiend's eyes widened beneath his crimson mask and he became irate. He flipped out as Sharc just slowly wandered by the ring.
Fiend tore his Accidie shirt off of his back and threw it at Sharc as he passed by. Sharc stopped and snickered as he looked at the pissed off Action! star in the ring.
Fiend had him ready to finish off when Sharc interrupted.
Sharc strolled up the ramp with his back to the carnage he'd left as Fiend shook the referee violently trying to get him to reverse his decision.
He had nothing to do with Sharc's attack, and he wanted that pinfall.
He needed that pinfall and all Sharc did was grin on his way to the back. His work here was done. As was Kayden Paulton.
Kayden however, just remained knocked the fuck out.
Outcome: Paulton via Disqualification.
