Fiend & Friends
Pressure Point 56
April 14, 2003
Starring: Fiend & Kayden Paulton
The Fans all pushed and shoved as they waved their cash in support of the Action Superstars. The merchandise stand was going crazy, selling copious amounts of material.
KroW shirts had gone up in sales this week. Same with Action! Man shirts, too.
Some of the Fans got shoved to the side as someone made their way to the front of the merchandise stand.
Or something.
More so the latter.
Fiend made his way through the herd of sheep paying their respects with their Washington’s and Franklin’s ready to swap them over.
Casually, Fiend walked to the front, without any argument from the Fans. He pulled a wad of notes from his pocket and pointed up into the top left hand corner.
“Accidie shirt, a twenty should cover it.” He tells the cashier.
“But they’re thirty!” He replied.
“I beg your pardon? Are you telling me they’re fifteen dollars? Well that’s fine, I take an XL. Hand it over, tiger, and we’ll have done business like responsible adults.” He reassured the now frightened merchandise cashier.
The cashier rummaged through the boxes and found the shirt. He put it on the counter.
Fiend proceeded to pull a knife from his pocket, as the Fans around him panicked a little, but waited to see what the ‘Archetype of Evil’ was up to.
He cut the sleeves off and threw them on the counter.
“The reason I get a discount is coz I don’t need the sleeves, capische?”
“Sure. Whatever you say, man.” Spattered the cashier.
Fiend took his shirt and left a fifty sitting on the bench.
“Keep the change.”
Fiend began to make his way back through the Crowd... but just then, he was greeted by a voice.
The friendliest voice money could buy.
“FIEND!” Yes, it was none other than Kayden Paulton!
“FIEND!” He shouted again, running past the people and finding the big man in front of him. Fiend smiled, showing his one golden tooth... but it didn’t scare Kayden. No way. In fact, it just made him feel more at home. “FIEND!” He said, yet again. “How are you!?”
“I’m sorry, you were?” Replied Fiend with a confused look.
He wondered why the Fans became confused as to how Fiend could not know the person before him.
“Oh, I’m sorry for not introducing myself.” Kayden frowned. “I’m Kayden Paulton. See, that’s my shirt right over there.”
The ‘Passive Aggressive’ pointed back to the t-shirt stand, at the “YOU’RE COOL!” shirt in big, giant, red letters.
“And you are!” Paulton added. “I’ve seen your work. Very nice. We have a Match tonight too. Boy oh boy... I hope you can carry me! You’re doing a GREAT job so far!”
Fiend snickered as the Fans anticipated him snapping and hurting Kayden. But he just snickered as he stared deep into Kayden’s eyes, trying to see what the man before him was capable of.
“Oh right, a Match. Me and you, huh? It’s funny you should mention the word ‘job’. You must be rather familiar with the word, having heard it from Reed so much, huh?” Fiend snickered at his clever wit.
“But seriously, it’ll be an honor spreading your blood all around that ring tonight. It’ll be my absolute pleasure, but you seem nice. So let me clear things up, this is business, not pleasure. Okay, I lied. It’s pleasure. I look forward to, as Chris Fox would have once put it, ‘our play date’.”
Fiend looked at the face of Paulton... who just smiled. He had smiled throughout the whole speech, and, he enjoyed it too. Fiend was such a talented guy in the ring... and what a way with words, as well.
“Ah, you know...” Paulton stated. “You more than likely will beat me.” He laughed. “I’m not too good anyway.”
There was a pause as Kayden continued. “It’s been really nice meeting you, Fiend.” The ‘Passive Aggressive’ stuck out his hand for a shake.
Fiend peered down at the hand before looking around at the horde of rats, or Fans, who had gathered to watch the “interaction”. He grinned as took a fairy floss from a nearby kid.
“Same goes, smiley.”
He put the fairy floss in Kayden’s hand and turned, pulling his shirt on as he left.
Paulton just smiled and waved him good-bye. “What an awesome dude. We should hang out more.”
