Dos Equis
Chris Chambers & The Cosmo Kid vs. Dos Equis & ...
NFW Brawl St. Louis
Feb. 15, 2009
When we last left Dos Equis out in promoting NFW via television spots world, he was snorting Coke Zero and promising to find a mythical, epic luchador tag team partner. Luckily for him, his first round opponents would be the formerly mentally challenged Chris Chambers and his new partner, The Cosmo Kid. Retrained by Steve Knox and possibly in a Clockwork Orange setting for Chambers personally, the duo came out to the ring first and looked ready to rumble.
Out next came the newly entered into NFW luchador, Dos Equis. Strangely, he came out alone…and slapping ten’s and high-five’s with the air next to him. Suffice to say, the Coke Zero had reduced his brain to zero calories.
The referee checked with Equis to see where his partner was, but was answered in the only way Equis could. "He’s standing right next to me, moron!" Well, never anger a ref in St. Louis ‘cause apparently he’ll willingly place you in a handicap match.
The match actually went decently with Equis starting off against Chambers and both wrestlers actually providing a good show. Apparently, Chambers has come a long way under Knox’s tutelage and Equis is way more gifted physically than mentally at the moment. Armdrags, dropkicks, hurricanrana’s oh my! Equis managed to get the advantage during the latter, but became increasingly frustrated with the ref not recognizing any of his tags to his partner. Each time he stepped onto the apron, a ten count would begin and either Chambers or Cosmo would kick him in the head or drag him back in. To put it bluntly, his hot tags were on ice.
The end of the match came as Equis got the advantage on Cosmo, put him on his shoulders and tagged is partner…waiting for him to come off the top rope. Unfortunately, the waiting period cost him as Cosmo Kid caught him in a forward rolling cradle for the 3 count, Equis was seen arguing with his partner over what happened, while Chambers and Cosmo Kid celebrated in the ring.
